“Lichtspiele” is a Book about selected exceptional movie theaters in Germany with interview of the movie theater owner, cinema operators and a bunch of real film nutcases, pictures of the film theaters and infographics about the cinema history.
From the oldest cinema worldwide via Drive-In’s through to a movie theater where the filmposters are all hand-drawn – Cinemas which are very special in their own way.
Some dirt of the analog film apears on the left side (the amount depends on the age of the cinema) of the title pages of the several cinemas and digital errors/glitches apears on the right side (if the movie theater changed to a digital projector)
The book format is ten times bigger than the original Cinemascope film roll. The opened picture-sites matching to the size of the movie screen.
The slant of the cover based on the movie tickets.
